![]() ![]() Brought it into Ford service and they recognized the noise and took a look. I loosed and tightened everything myself and had no luck getting rid of the tick. So i took it in that day once i noticed it and they thought it might be exhaust. The only mods I have are axle back exhaust and a removed sound tube. It fades off around 2500 rpm (or i cant hear it because of the exhaust). It is fairly intermittent and does increase frequency a bit as the rpm's climb, but still is not consistent, and I can really hear it as the rpms fall. I just got an oil change around 35k miles on my 2015 GT (Auto) and that day driving around i noticed this same sort of nasty tick. I wanted to make this post to chronicle the process of taking it in and hopefully the eventual happy resolution. I used only ford motorcraft oil and an stp XL filter. Here is a clip of the ticking for reference, keep in mind it did not display this behavior when I first bought it. I replicated the sound with ac on and off and he confirmed it did not sound normal. Its still under the base warranty so w/e happens should be covered but the service advisor acted like he had not heard about this issue, even though a quick google turns up pages of results for these cars. I dropped the car off at Chapman Ford Scottsdale today. My heart sank more when finding youtube videos showcasing the exact sound my car was making only to learn in the comments or later in the forums posts that either a new short block was put in or an entirely new motor. I was really heart broken to see this is a pervasive thing from all 5.0 owners not just 6 gens but also the previous 5th gens have been having this issue. After doin an oil change noticed the ticking sound and began googling. ![]() Racer Media & Marketing, Inc., 17030 Red Hill Avenue, Irvine, CA 92614, bought this car 2 weeks ago, has 29k miles on it. Very fortunate, and I want to repay them with a championship tomorrow.Īll contents copyright © 2022, Racer Media & Marketing, Inc. I surpassed Mario, and obviously I drive for Roger, but just to have those two legends there congratulating me…it’s real, and a lot of gratitude for the chances and the opportunities I’ve been given over the last decade and a half. “I saw Roger there, I saw Mario there and all the cameras, and I thought, ‘this is really surreal.’ It just blows my mind. “I couldn’t celebrate it very much because I’m so focused on tomorrow and I don’t want to give out too much energy because I’m going to need it tomorrow, but yeah, a day I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” he said. Andretti himself was among them, along with team owner Roger Penske, and Power conceded that his 100 percent focus on Sunday might have slipped to 98 percent for just a few moments. Power’s 68th career pole pulled him clear of Mario Andretti’s all-time record an achievement that was saluted by a line of well-wishers that extended the full length of pitlane. It’s far, far, far from won, and I’m really aware of that.” “ is a great spot because he didn’t use his tires up, and he’s not that far back. ‘What happened?’ ‘I screwed up in qualifying.’ ‘That’s how you won the race?’ That’s how this thing rolls sometimes. But that can totally be the winning strategy. It kind of sucks because Firestone, or the series, doesn’t give us enough tires. “ in this series, a problem like that can win you the race tomorrow, because you have more tires. “Less pressure for sure, because we didn’t have to shadow exactly what those guys did. ![]() While their early exits on Saturday made the rest of the afternoon easier from Power’s standpoint, he also noted that it leaves his rival with fresher tires for the race. Another spin at the hairpin and a couple of wheels in the gravel at an inopportune time for CGR’s Marcus Ericsson and Penske’s Scott McLaughlin respectively stopped both from progressing to the Fast 6. Power’s Team Penske teammate Josef Newgarden and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon both went into qualifying 20 points behind the Australian, and both were eliminated in the opening qualifying round: Newgarden spun at the Corkscrew Dixon couldn’t get his tires working for the final scramble under green flags. But despite padding his lead with an extra point for pole, he believes the race is still wide open. Ind圜ar qualifying at Laguna Seca went perfectly to script for Will Power, who emerged with a record-breaking pole position after a session that brought setbacks of varying severity for all four of his championship rivals.
